Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Our company representative will greet you when you arrive and take you to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is home to mountain gorillas. Along with other forest animals, these are free to roam the forest. With lunch in Mbarara town, the trip from Kampala takes roughly nine hours. You’ll get there in time for supper and spend the night there.

Accommodation: Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge, Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience – Batwa Community Visit

After eating an early breakfast, you will be given an overview of the gorilla trekking activity by representatives of the Uganda Wildlife Authority at the park headquarters. A ranger guide will accompany you as you venture into the jungle to look for the gorillas. How far the gorilla families have migrated determines how long the gorilla trekking takes. You will be able to see and take pictures of the gorillas for up to an hour after you find them. You will eventually leave the forest and head back to the resort to enjoy some entertainment from the Batwa or Pygmies. These are the last group of short structured people in Uganda.

Accommodation: Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge, Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will go to Lake Bunyonyi in the Kabale district. This region is renowned as the “Switzerland of Africa” due to its natural beauty and likeness to this locale. It is Uganda’s deepest lake, which runs along the Rwandan border on a clear beach. The following day, you can see the far hills of the Virunga big volcanic zone. Arrive in time for lunch, and then cruise down the lake to visit various islands, including one where birds, antelope, and zebras live.

Accommodation: Birds Nest, Bunyonyi Overland Camp.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 4: Departure
