Our 4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Tour takes place in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, which is the habitat of the mountain gorillas in the Virunga conservation area. Diana Fossey spent eighteen years researching the majestic mountain gorillas of Rwanda. Because of her efforts to protect them, the country today has a small population residing in the highlands of the Volcanoes National Park. Rwanda, which is still recovering from the genocide of the 1990s, is the best place to see these remarkable but endangered primates.

Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience.
Arrive at the Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi early in the morning to begin your mountain gorilla trekking adventure. Here, you will speak with informed park rangers and guides on appropriate behaviour when trekking with gorillas. You will be paired with a gorilla family to see after a quick travel to the starting point and an orientation on gorilla trekking rangers at the park headquarters. After that, hike into the jungle. You’ll start by tracking where the gorillas were the day before. Real habituated families at the gorillas will be visible to visitors. Each group is allowed to have a maximum of eight attendees per day.
Seeing a mountain gorilla up close is one of the most memorable animal experiences in Africa. The mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) is among the most endangered species. With elevations ranging from 2300 to 4500 meters, the southern part of Virunga National Park (DRC) and the northern Rwandan Volcanoes National Park are home to at least 480 mountain gorillas. The surroundings and the beauty of the woodland make the walk enjoyable despite its physical demands.
All weariness is forgotten once the gorillas are found, since it is frequently said to be the world’s most profound natural history experience. Waterproof apparel, including zip-lock bags for cameras and film, is a good essential because it can rain suddenly. Taking bottled water is crucial. Trekking with gorillas is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Daily visits are restricted to “only one-hour” viewing in order to reduce animal discomfort and exposure to potential human disease. You still have enough time to take pictures and see these magnificent primates in their natural environment thanks to this rule.
You have the option of relaxing at the lodge this afternoon or participating in one of the following optional activities: a) touring the Gorilla Guardians Cultural Village, which is close by, or b) going to the local market. You will be rewarded with a unique and memorable experience as you visit various locations inside this neighbourhood with a guided stroll through the town. In addition to hearing all the fascinating tales, you will gain some understanding of every object in the king’s home when you visit. Take in the traditional dances of Rwanda, such as the Intore dance, which are performed by locals with traditional musical instruments. when you’ve returned to your lodge.
