Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After an early breakfast at 8:00 a.m., drive for half a day to Fort Portal, passing through the Nile Delta’s lush jungle and papyrus wetlands before arriving to Kibale National Park, located beneath the Rwenzori Mountains. A lunch break at Gardens Restaurant in Fort Portal, followed by a leisurely drive to Kibale and an afternoon crater walk through Nyinambuga.

Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).

Day 2: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience.

Today’s focus is on Chimpanzee Habituation Experience. Eat breakfast early in the morning, pack a lunch, and head into the forest before the sun comes up. After meeting your guide, you visit the chimps’ nesting locations from the previous evening. The chimps you’ll be spending the rest of the day with are waking up from their slumber in their nests as dawn breaks. Your day will be filled with high-quality photos of the chimps, and you will learn how to recognise them as individuals based on their markings, scars, and other distinguishing features. Aside from everything listed, there are the most colourful butterflies, plants, and trees that will astound you – the scenery is just breathtaking.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Today’s trip will take you into Queen Elizabeth National Park, located southwest of Bwindi. You may view a variety of creatures, including buffaloes and elephants. A chance to view tree-climbing lions in southern Ishasha. Head to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest

Prepare for hiking at 8:00 a.m. with breakfast and instruction from UWA staff on how to engage with these endangered mountain gorillas. Make sure you have your raincoat, beverages, food, jungle boots and other necessities with you. If you book a group tour, the instructors will take you inside the breathtaking ecosystem to see the timid primates. Remember to bring your lunchboxes and all of the tools you’ll need to track the endangered mountain gorilla, which is undoubtedly one of the most thrilling animal encounters in the world. It may take two to six hours to track, but the effort is well worth it. Spend the night and have dinner at your lodge.

Day 5: Return to Kampala – Departure.

Start your day with breakfast to get ready for the long drive back to Kampala. You can choose to go back via the Kasese Fort Portal road to see Uganda’s rural side. On the trip back to Kampala or Entebbe Airport, which would reach quite late in the evening, you would then make a lunch break at a small hotel of your choosing.
