Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Serengeti National Park.
You will be driven to the Serengeti, about 335 kilometres (208 miles) from Arusha, after being picked up at the airport. The Serengeti extends north to Kenya and west to Lake Victoria. In the afternoon, you will take a drive after arriving at the resort in time for lunch.
Accommodation: Seronera Wildlife Lodge.
Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti
After breakfast, you will pack a lunch and go on a full-day game drive. There are plenty of animals to see, including around 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelles that follow the wildebeest as they search for new grazing. Even when migration is low, the Serengeti provides some of Africa’s most exciting wildlife viewing. Here, one can witness massive herds of buffalo, smaller herds of elephants and giraffes, thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala, Grant’s gazelle, leopards, cheetahs, three African jackals, spotted hyenas, and a variety of more elusive small predators, such as the aardwolf, which eats insects, and the lovely serval cat. Furthermore, there are about 500 different species of birds, ranging from the black eagles that soar peacefully over the Lobo Hills to the giant ostrich and odd secretary bird that may be spotted in broad meadows.
Accommodation: Seronera Wildlife Lodge.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 3: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater to observe wildlife such as lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, and birds. Birds spotted here include the kori bustard, blacksmith plover, cattle eagle, vulture, flamingos at Crater Lake, stork, bats, giant vulture, holy ibis, and long-necked herons. In the afternoon, you’ll go on a walking safari around the crater rim.
Accommodation: Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 4: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you head to Tarangire National Park. As soon as you get there, you’ll go on a game drive. There are herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest, and eland, as well as up to 300 elephants. It is the only place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope, such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and the rare long-necked gerenuk, can be regularly sighted. It is also home to the highest concentration of species outside of the Serengeti habitat, making it a delicious feast for predators.
Accommodation: Tarangire Safari Lodge.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 5: Departure.
Go on an early morning wildlife drive, have breakfast at the resort, and then head back to Arusha in time for your flight.
