Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival – Kigali International Airport.
When you arrive at Kigali International Airport, our company representative will greet you and inform you about the 7-day safari in Rwanda before transporting you to a hotel in Kigali that has been reserved for you. Depending on your arrival time, you may go on a tour of Kigali City, visiting a variety of sites, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Gisozi. Return to your hotel, eat dinner, and stay overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.
The travel southwest to Nyungwe will take the full day today. On the route, stop in Nyabisindu, the former royal capital, to see a model of the Mwami’s (king’s) palace. Before arriving at your lodge in the late afternoon, proceed to Huye and visit the first-rate Ethnographic Museum, which houses one of Africa’s outstanding ethnographic collections.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park.
Your group’s search for chimpanzees in the picturesque surroundings of Nyungwe Forest National Park begins early. In addition to these wonderful primates, the rainforest is home to over 300 different species of birds, including the Ruwenzori colobus and the l’Hoest’s monkey. Return to your resort for a relaxing day.

Day 4: Transfer to Gisenyi.
On your way to Gisenyi, stop for a picnic lunch as you travel north along Lake Kivu’s eastern side. You can spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing by your hotel’s pool or admiring the landscape from the sandy beach.

Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
After spending the morning at your accommodation, drive to your lodge in Volcanoes National Park and enjoy the stunning vistas of the Virunga Mountains, a sequence of eight ancient volcanoes.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park.
Start your day early in order to see the amazing mountain gorillas. Depending on where the gorillas are, you may have to walk for up to six hours after receiving suitable trekking instruction. After a fantastic hour with them, return to your lodging to relax. Why not extend your stay by one day to experience the wonders of a second gorilla walk?

Day 7: Return to Kigali – Departure.
Drive back to Kigali airport for your homebound flight.
