Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
After picking you up from your Arusha hotel, our guide will give you an overview of your impending safari before driving you to Lake Manyara National Park. Following your arrival in Lake Manyara National Park, you will settle into your lodge, eat lunch, unwind for a short while, and then start your afternoon wildlife drive trip. The vast but shallow soda lake that occupies two-thirds of Lake Manyara National Park is situated at the base of the western escarpment of the Great East African Rift Valley. Large flocks of flamingos drawn by the lake’s algae, one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, and the unusual tree-climbing lions are among the many creatures that call the park home.
Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park – Serengeti Plains
After breakfast, you will travel through the stunning high-lying farmlands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before entering the Serengeti National Park. As we descend into the Serengeti National Park, sometimes referred to as the “heart of wild Africa,” we leave the highlands behind. As far as the eye can see, the plains of the Serengeti stretch on forever. After that, you’ll head to the Seronera area, which is the park’s central region and is home to some of the most abundant wildlife habitats. The Seronera River serves as a vital water source for the region, drawing a wide range of wildlife that best reflects the majority of the Serengeti’s species. You go on an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park once we arrive in time for lunch.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 3: Full Day at the Serengeti Plains
We will have a morning game drive after your early breakfast along the Sogore River Circuit, which winds into the plains south of the Seronera River. In this area, you can spot lions, Thomson gazelles, Topi, ostriches, and cheetahs, among other wildlife. You will head to the Visitor Centre, which is near the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and open-access campsites, following your game drive. In addition to several fascinating wildlife exhibits, the Centre has a gift shop with maps of the area and informational pamphlets. We will thus eat our lunch from the store, which also serves refreshments. Later on The Kopjes Circuit, which circles the Maasai Kopjes anticlockwise, is renowned for its numerous lions and some enormous cobras. In the afternoon, we will drive across it. Scattered across the plains, kopjes are weathered granite outcrops that serve as tiny ecosystems, offering drinking water in pools formed in the rock after rain and shade. When most wildlife comes to drink during the dry seasons, the Kopjes are ideal for lion hunting.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast at the resort, we’ll head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will stop at Olduvai Gorge, which has a history reaching back to the dawn of mankind. Drs. Lois and Mary Leakey, anthropologists, found the skulls of ‘Nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man,’ also known as the early men. We will arrive at the resort in time for lunch, after which we will descend almost 550 meters into the Ngorongoro crater to observe wildlife for the remainder of the day. The Ngorongoro National Park contains a diverse range of creatures, including herds of wildebeest, eland, warthog, zebra, buffalo, hippo, and enormous African elephants, lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and leopards. We will then explore Lake Magadi, a big but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern portion and one of the crater’s principal characteristics. A high number of flamingos, hippos, and other aquatic fowl are commonly seen here.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 5: Full Day at Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we will descend 550 meters into the beautiful Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is heavily populated with a variety of wildlife species, making it one of the few such sites in Africa, with an estimated 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania’s few living black rhinos. The crater’s year-round water supply and fodder are the primary attractions for a diversity of fauna. The park is home to zebra, buffalo, herds of wildebeest, eland, enormous African elephants, warthogs, and hippos. Another major lure to this scenic national park is its large predator population, which includes lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard. We will have a picnic lunch on the crater bottom.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 6: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, we’ll head to Tarangire National Park. The park spans along the banks of the Tarangire River, and is largely made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley plain. The park’s natural environment consists primarily of Acacia woods and big Baobab trees, with large marsh areas in the southern sections. Both the river and the marshes attract wildlife, particularly during Tanzania’s dry season. Tarangire National area is well-known for having some of Africa’s largest elephant herds. The area also has other rare wildlife species, including the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, and a few Ashy Starlings. After your morning game drive, you’ll have a picnic lunch before heading out on an afternoon game drive. You will later retreat to your lodge to relax and unwind.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 7: Return to Arusha – Departure
You will get up early for a morning wildlife drive in Tarangire National Park. You will then return to the resort for breakfast, packing, and checking out. We’ll then head back to Arusha.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch).
