In order to follow rhinos, you will make a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, which is the only place in Uganda where rhinos can be found. On foot, they are pursued for two to three hours. If you have time, you will climb to the top of the falls to see the Nile.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

The travel there takes about nine hours. We’ll stop for lunch on the way, and after that, we’ll head to the lodge for supper and check-in. Nature always greets you as you approach the forest, and the journey is always incredibly picturesque.

Accommodation: Kyaniga Lodge.

Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking – Bigodi Swamp Walk

You will get briefing on how to interact with primates in the park’s main office after breakfast. It takes two to three hours to track in the forest under the direction of the Uganda Wildlife Authority. Look for more species while there, such as red-tailed monkeys, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, and red colobus monkeys. Because the chimpanzees make such a tremendous noise when you approach them, you are granted an hour to take pictures of them. Your guide will meet you there following a lunch at the resort and a stroll through the Bigodi wetland in the afternoon. Numerous bird species, as well as other primates, birds, and angelic butter flies, can be found in the marshy area.

The park is home to half of these primates, and you’ll pass through the southern area of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ishasha, which is famous for its tree-climbing lion population. On a good day, seeing them is easy; on bad days, it requires a keen eye. Arrive at the lodge for dinner and stay the night.

Accommodation: Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge.

Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking Experience.

After a full breakfast, you’ll report to the park headquarters for a briefing before heading into the jungle. Tracking is done in groups of eight per gorilla family, overseen by a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger. The park’s landscape may appear difficult at first, but it will all be worthwhile once you meet the gentle species and spend an hour with them while following the gorilla rules and regulations. If you’re lucky, you might see L’hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, or forest elephants.
