Our closest living relatives, the endangered Chimpanzee, the endangered Red Colobus monkey, and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey, all call it home. The forest boasts one of the highest monkey concentrations and diversity in Africa, with 13 species including the Black and White Colobus, Blue Monkey, Grey-cheeked Mangabey, Red-tailed Monkey, Bush baby, and Pottos.

Investigate the crater region surrounding Ndali lodge. You can even stop at any tea plantation along the way if you choose. Following dinner, return to your overnight accommodations. Many guests consider the launch cruise to be the highlight of their entire safari in Africa.

You have a lot of surprises in store. For example, in the crevices of the bat cave floor, pythons are often observed consuming bats. Adjacent to the cave are Hunter’s Cave and a picturesque old Blue Lake. You may see bat hawks, brown-eared woodpeckers, and other forest birds in addition to other primates.

The Tanzanian Plains stretch into this park.
