The 3 Days Nyungwe Forest Chimpanzee Tracking Tour allows visitors to observe and trek the endangered chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest National Park, one of the reliable travel agencies in Rwanda. Located in southwest Rwanda, Nyungwe Forest National Park covers 1,019 square kilometres and is home to a variety of plants, including bamboo, gnat lobelias, orchids, swamps, and montane forests. The park was established in 2004 with the specific goal of conserving the endangered chimpanzees and diversifying Rwandan tourism industry. Chimpanzee trekking is the primary tourist activity in this highland forest.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Our company tour guide will meet you at Kigali International Airport and take you to Nyungwe Forest National Park. On the way south-east, you can stop at the Nyanza King’s Palace and the Murambi Genocide Memorial Site.
Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Forest Lodge (Luxury), Nyungwe Top View Lodge (Midrange) and Gisakura Hotel (Budget).
Day 2: Chimps Tracking and Canopy Walk
After breakfast, you will convene at the Nyungwe Forest Park offices to be briefed on the chimpanzee tracking expedition. During this search, you can expect to see a variety of wildlife, including baboons and velvert monkeys. Spend an hour with the chimpanzees and observe their behaviour before being taken back to the starting point for your return trip to the lodge. Take a guided canopy walk in the afternoon; it’s not for the faint of heart.

Day 3: Departure
Enjoy your breakfast and get set for your return trip to Kigali and with an early arrival, engage in a spectacular Kigali City Tour to Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site, National Museum a few to name before drop off at a hotel / Kigali International Airport.
