The 4 Day Primate Tracking Safari in Rwanda provides guests with unforgettable experiences with some of the world’s endangered animal species (mountain gorillas and golden monkeys) in their native habitat, Volcanoes National Park in northwestern Rwanda. Volcanoes National Park, located in northwestern Rwanda, is a prime destination for primate trekking safaris in the Land of a Thousand Hills. The park is home to more than 400 mountain gorillas, the largest gorilla population in the Virunga Massif. The Rwanda Development Board has habituated 10 gorilla families to facilitate trekking in Volcanoes National Park.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
When you arrive, you will be greeted and welcomed by our company representative before driving to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze Province. En route, take in the stunning vistas of the undulating hills and verdant vegetation.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking – Gorilla Guardians Village Visit.
Enjoy an early breakfast and meet at the Kinigi park headquarters by 7:00 a.m. for a morning briefing on trekking guidelines before embarking on your thrilling trip. Typically, it takes 30 minutes to several hours to encounter the mountain gorillas; nevertheless, once there, spend an hour with them before returning to the beginning place (for Certificates of Participation) and retrieve your lodge. Later in the afternoon, go on the Iby’wacu Cultural Tour to gain a better grasp of Rwandan culture.

Day 3: Golden Monkeys and Visit to Twin Lakes of Ruhondo and Burera
Have an early breakfast and get at Kinigi Park headquarters by 7:00 a.m. for morning briefing on the golden monkey tracking code of conduct. Unlike mountain gorillas, golden monkeys live in huge families and may be observed hopping from one tree branch to another while playing and searching for food. You will spend an hour with the lively creatures before returning to your lodge, having lunch, and taking a walk to the magnificent twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.

Day 4: Return to Kigali City – Departure.
