Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
When you arrive in Rwanda, your driver guide will brief you on the details of your 5 Day Rwanda Gorillas and Dian Fossey Hike before driving north for around two hours to Volcanoes National Park, which is 80 km from Kigali. If you arrive in Kigali early, you will go to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, also known as the General Exhibition Ground of Genocide in Rwanda, which is the only place where the genocide truth lies, such as the historical Rwanda genocide story of 1994, catalogues with details of the genocide using photographs, video, and written accounts, as well as a range of artefacts and personal testimonies, Memorial Gardens containing ten graves, and the National Documentation Centre of the Drive to Ruhengeri, arriving late in the evening.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, you will proceed to the park’s headquarters, where your guide will complete the necessary formal briefing. You will meet your ranger guide for a briefing on gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park, an activity that prepares you for a once-in-a-lifetime experience of natural beauty, and then begin with the first phase of tracking in the tropical forest, which will provide comfort in the park’s natural cool breeze. After your gorilla hike, return to your lodge to rest, eat, and sleep.

Day 3: Optional Second Gorilla Trek or Golden Monkey Tracking
Enjoy a second optional gorilla tracking session, aimed at exhausted the various gorilla varieties from the day before. By doing so, you will have the opportunity to track while recognising each gorilla by name in the gorilla group to the greatest extent possible, allowing you to learn about their distinctions and what brings them together.
You can also choose to go golden monkey trekking because Volcanoes National Park is a place where gold meets silver. Enjoy a bush or forest meal before returning to the Lodge for dinner and the night.

Day 4: Visit the Dian Fossey Grave at Karisoke Research Center
After breakfast, pay a visit to the grave of the late Dian Fossey, an American primatologist, where you will learn how she became a hero through the stories of her famous works and struggle efforts to preserve the gorilla lifestyle, and if possible, grab a copy of Gorillas in the Mist, a natural move based on the natural beauty of Africa’s rain forests. Later, enjoy a free leisure break, dinner, and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 5: Return to Kigali – Departure.
