Uganda is a popular destination for primates, with 13 different species living in specific protected regions. Our 7 Days Uganda Primate Tracking Safari Tour will take you to Bwindi, an impenetrable national park for mountain gorillas that protects the majority of the remaining animal population. The forest includes a bamboo forest zone, where gentle and gregarious species thrive. They are herbivores who consume vegetation, tree branches, dead tree trunks, and mushrooms. The Kibale Forest National Park, the largest forest in Kabarole District, is home to chimpanzees.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale – Bigodi Swamp Walk

For a morning briefing, we will proceed to the Kanyanchu tourist centre after breakfast. To take in the area’s natural beauties, you will be led in groups through the forest. A briefing on the dos and don’ts regarding primates will take place at the park headquarters after breakfast in the morning. It will take two to three hours for the Uganda Wildlife Authority to escort you through the region in a group before you begin tracking the primates. You can hear the primates from a distance because they are so raucous. Look for additional species in the trees, including red-tailed monkeys, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, and red colobus monkeys.

After returning to meet your guide, you will learn a lot about the forest, including the tree species. You will also eat lunch at the resort and take a trip in the Bigodi swamp in the afternoon, where you will view a variety of species, including birds and butterflies.

We’ll also visit the southern area of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Ishasha to go tree climbing. On good days, lions can be easily spotted through the fig trees; on bad days, they require a keen eye. Lions visit the Lodge for supper and spend the night there.

The park’s terrain may appear difficult at first, but it will be really rewarding at the end of the day when you encounter the gentle species. The primates will be the primary focus, as they are headed by a male silverback and live in families of up to 20 individuals.
