Volcanoes National Park is a popular tourist attraction for nearly every traveler. It is known to be home to mountain gorillas, specifically Gorilla beringei, a subspecies of the Eastern gorilla. They live deep among the country’s historic forests. Volcanoes National Park is an outgrowth of the vast Virunga volcanic range. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Kigali International Airport

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our company representative who will educate you on the two-day tour, and depending on the time you arrive, you will take a Kigali City Tour to the Rwanda Genocide Memorial. Visit Rwanda’s culture museum and local market before being transferred to Kigali International Airport for your helicopter flight to Volcanoes National Park. The helicopter flight lasts around 25 minutes. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and transported to the lodge.

Accommodation: Bisate Lodge.

Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience

After your early morning meal at the resort, you will go to the park headquarters to begin tracking mountain gorillas. The ranger guides will brief you on the entire gorilla tracking exercise before assigning you to groups of eight persons, each headed by a ranger guide, to search for gorillas in the forest. Gorilla trekking is an incredible experience, as gorillas coexist peacefully with other wildlife. Other park creatures you may observe on the walk include the huge forest hog, forest elephants and forest duikers. Once you’ve located the gorillas, you’ll have up to an hour with them to observe and photograph. After the gorilla tracking excursion, you will proceed to the airfield for a helicopter transfer to Kigali International Airport to catch your outbound journey home.
